Unforgettable Scenes!

There are films that gave us great entertainment, gave us hope, and some gave us unforgettable scenes. These are scenes that instantly comes to your mind whenever you come across the film’s poster, name or even a song that was used in that particular scene. From all the uncountable films I’ve seen, here are the best of the lot. The links for each scene is given below the scene title.

*Spoiler Alert*

10) ‘The End of All Things’ – Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)

Nothing better than reliving best moments with your true best friend

If you were a fan during the time when we had to wait eagerly for a year until the next movie, you’ll know how much this scene means.  There were many great scenes in this saga especially the battle scenes but this is the utter standout. After completing their remarkable journey and beating every odd a Hobit could face, Elijah Wood and Sean Astin looks back at the small things we take for granted like the sound of birds, touch of grass, rivers, fireworks, home and childhood sweetheart. Capped with its beautiful background music, it was the best ever thing I’ve seen in the cinema.

“If I was to marry someone, it would had been her” – Samwise Gamgee

9) ‘You Talking to Me?’ - Taxi Driver (1976)

That's some good practice indeed

In this self-monologue scene in a completely empty room, Robert de Niro practises his stunt in front of the camera. This is by no means an easy feat. Many have tried doing this including celebrities and even WWF wrestlers but failed miserably. It certainly looks easy but it is definitely not when you have to talk in a scene when you are completely alone. Robert de Niro does this to perfection.

8) ‘French Pub’ – Inglorious Basterds (2009)

Michael Fassbender certainly did not do his homework.
Wonder how the situation of Nazi occupied French bar will look like around World War 2? This scene is the answer. The opening scene of this film was equally good but this scene had a gory touch to pip this spot. Just remember how to show the German three and you can imitate as one or else…..you get the point.

7) ‘You can’t handle the truth!’ – A Few Good Men (1992)

Did Jack Nicholson ordered the code red?

Imagine Tom Cruise, Kevin Bacon and a certain Jack Nicholson as a colonel in a courtroom. That is intense enough. Jack Nicholson gives an Oscar worthy cameo performance and this scene has to go down as the best courtroom scene ever.

6) ‘Omaha Beach’ – Saving Private Ryan (1998)

The beach that turned red

In this Steven Spielberg epic, this scene is probably the most brutal way ever to start a film and which is certainly not for the faint hearted. It exposes the vulnerability and fear of war. The day when the sand and sea turned red was on this day.

5) ‘Good for you Marty’ – Primal Fear (1996)

Aaron or Roy?

When everything seems done and dusted, your biggest fears come to play. Edward Norton showed why he was nominated playing this complex role and this scene also showed that sometimes we just got to live with the ugly truth as we have no choice but to do so.

4) ‘Russian Roulette’ – The Deer Hunter (1978)

5/6 survival odds, doesn't sound bad, does it?
The highlight of this Oscar winning film comes when Robert de Niro invites Christopher Walken to play with fire in this game of death with Vietnamese soldiers. Dare to shoot yourself in the head with only one bullet in a six chamber pistol? Will you?

3) ‘How the F**k am I Funny?’ –Goodfellas (1990)

Never be too comfortable around Joe Pesci

A happy moment among friends turns out to be an awkward situation for Ray Liotta. Legendary director Martin Scorsese certainly knows how to write a script.  Joe Pesci won the Oscar for this role and he certainly deserved it. Enough said.

2) ‘What’s in the Box?’ – Se7en (1999)

When you realize you messed up

A question asked by Brad Pitt with Morgan Freeman knowing the answer first and which was planned by Kevin Spacey. It explains everything on why would he surrender when he just 2 kills away from completing his masterpiece.

     1)  ‘Table Talk’ – Heat (1995)

The face-off  between 2 of Hollywood's best ever actors
Al Pacino as a police officer and Robert de Niro as a gangster sitting face to face at the table, what more could you ask for? This scene is simply brilliant as it shows the views of two very different careers like the sacrifices made being a police and also a mob gangster. None is going to bow down and give up of course. The level of ego and class involved was just too high. It left me with no choice than to place this as the #1 spot.

Superhero Rumble! : Part 2

*credits to Kugarubaan Sri Vetrivelan for the editing.

Link to superhero rumble part 1

H: Welcome back Ladies and Gentlemen for this most anticipated event of the year! Thank You for staying tuned and with 15 more entries and not to forget an extra entrant ticket given by Loki earlier for DC, we are set for an epic finale.

Rare backstage footage caught just minutes before the start of the rumble

H: Back in the ring, Captain America is the sole marvel figure against 3 from DC. Aquaman is trying his best eliminate the captain as Dr. Manhattan looks on from the corner. Flash has been running since his arrival with a speed so quick that he seems somewhat invincible. The crowd are doing their best to support their hero!

Crowd: CAPTAIN!! CAPTAIN!! CAPTAIN!! .

H: The Joker is not back at ringside yet as he went to find a replacement for the extra entry.

Entry #16: Shazam

H: Things are looking from bad to worse for the First Avenger as another DC joins the fray.

Elimination!

H: Flash steals away the Captain’s shield faster than a blink of an eye and the fresh Shazam lands the knockout blow for the captain and tossing him over the rope. Another crowd favourite is gone!

H: They should focus on eliminating Dr. Manhattan now who has been a real nuisance ever since his arrival.

Entry #17: Ant Man

H: Not the best of times for a Marvel hero to make his entry but Ant Man seems pretty cool while entering the ring…….Aaaanndddd he’s gone. Ant Man has shrunk himself to his ant size to make it difficult for others to find him. A smart tactical move there from Ant Man.

Entry #18: Iron Man

H: Tony Stark has crashed the party! Flying into the ring and creating havoc with his reflector rays! Everyone is against Iron Man now but he is having none of it.

Elimination!

H: Iron Man eliminates Shazam with his Unibeam ray. The ring is in a complete mess now.

Entry #19: The Thing

H: This entry has strike fear into everyone’s eyes as the Thing bamboozles the ring. Iron Man has to go easy on his lasers and rays or else the ring can be damaged any minute now.

Entry #20: Birdman (Hawkman)

H: Fresh from winning the Oscar this year, Birdman goes after Iron Man and it seems to be an evenly intriguing fight.

Entry #21: Spider Man

H: Everyone’s childhood idol finally gets his time in the ring and the crowd are at the edge of their seats.

Entry #22: Deadshot

H: Deadshot joins and for those who don’t know, Deadshot will be in the Suicide Squad film due next year and will be played by actor Will Smith.

Elimination!

H: Iron Man’s beam rays proved to be too much for Birdman to handle as one of his wings got damaged by the laser and lands among the crowd as he was battling in the air with Iron Man.

Entry #23: Magneto

H: Shit just got serious here with the arrival of one of the most powerful X-men. Magneto looks determined to avenge for his son who was the first to be eliminated earlier. Spider Man shoots his web to Aquaman’s leg and topples him down but Flash removes the thick web with a lightning speed and Aquaman hangs on.

H: Look at this! Magneto is launching all sorts of objects such as steel table n chairs at Dr. Manhattan but he destroys them easily using his powerful mind. It’ll take something unique to eliminate Dr. Manhattan tonight. The organisers should have known not to keep any metal made items around the ring with Magneto around.

Dr. Manhattan: Your magnetism power will not work against me Eric.

Magneto: Don’t call me that. I prefer, Magneto.

Elimination!

H: The Thing eliminates Deadshot with an almighty punch over the top rope. Ouch!

Entry #24: Deadpool

H: The Joker has finally come back to ringside and looks pleased with his selection. We’ll see what he has in store for us later.

H: Meanwhile, Deadpool is having no problems slashing Spider Man’s fired webs at him using his sword. Spidey is finding this rumble quite difficult for his liking.

Entry #25: Superman

Crowd: IS IT A BIRD? IS IT A PLANE?

H: It’s Superman! Landing in the ring with style, Superman immediately goes against the Thing. Magneto fires a light stand at Dr. Manhattan but he crushes it and stands firm. He is probably biding his time to strike his arch nemesis, Superman at the right moment.

Elimination!

H: Dr. Manhattan’s dream will not come though as the slick Flash attacks him from the back using Captain’s America’s shield that he stole. Dr. Manhattan holds on to the ropes but Flash quickly pushes him out of the ring.

Dr. Manhattan cannot digest his elimination

H: Seeing this, Magneto crushes Captain’s America’s shield into pieces, afraid that it may be used against him. That is 4 DC eliminations in a row now!

Elimination!

H: The man of steel was too much for the Thing as the continuous, super speed punches on his face knocked him out cold.

H: That is not enough to balance the numbers as for now Marvel has 4 to DC’s 3 in the ring.

Entry #26: Wolverine

H: Wolverine charges towards the ring filled with rage and DC has a run for their money now. Flash knows they are outnumbered and has turned his turbo speed on by circling the ring creating smoke which is hard to see what is going on in there.

H: Deadpool and Wolverine has Superman pinned down but the man of steel isn’t giving up the fight easily. Aquaman comes to his aid but Spiderman interferes. Iron Man is shooting his laser beams but Flash is too fast and avoids the blasts.

Entry #27: Hulk

H: The crowd is in ecstasy now with the arrival of the Hulk. Can the Hulk sweep everyone and win this?

H: Smashing almost everyone in his path without bothering DC or Marvel, Hulk is on a roll. Aquaman barely hangs on yet again and Deadpool almost eliminated Superman!

Elimination!

H: Spiderman shoots his web at the legs of the Hulk which made the Hulk to topple and falls on Aquaman! The hulk is unable to move now and Spidey throws the unconscious Aquaman out of the ring.

H: Hulk breaks lose the web on his leg and this has made him really mad at Spiderman. Hulk grabs him by the neck and suffocates him but Iron Man shoots his reflector rays at the back of Hulk and Spiderman is reprieved from his suffering.

Entry #28: Ghost Rider

H: The rider that fights Lucifer himself is here and throws his burning chain around Deadpool and makes him drop his sword. Magneto takes the opportunity and crushes the sword. Flash barges Ghost Rider from the back and Deadpool is safe for now.

Elimination!

H: Magneto removes Tony Stark’s suit and breaks it into pieces and he is exposed! The billionaire, playboy and philanthropist have been eliminated as well.

Magneto tears apart Tony Stark's suit

H: Superman and Hulk are battling it out with all their might. Spider Man is finding it difficult to recover from the suffocation given by Hulk

Elimination!

H: Wolverine eliminates Deadpool with his adamantium claws piercing through the side of his body. Thankfully the ambulance has been on standby all night.

Wolverine puts one through Deadpool

Elimination!

H: Ghost Rider wraps his chains around Wolverine but it is easily broken by the adamantium claws and Wolverine sticks his claws right through Ghost Rider’s skull. That was a painful elimination for Ghost Rider.

Elimination!

H: Sensing the danger Wolverine possess, Magneto splits the claws of his fellow mutant and literally shattering it. Wolverine is able to recover but Magneto easily lifts him to the air just by the movement of his hand and Wolverine lands among crowd. Not even Wolverine is capable of winning this rumble!

Magneto gives Wolverine an excruciating elimination!

Entry #29: Jean Grey

H: The only class 5 mutant of the X-men is walking towards the ring and Magneto finally looks threatened. Will Jean turn into Phoenix and completely destroy the whole arena let alone the ring?

H: The crowd has gone completely silent knowing the power of Jean Grey has that you will be able to hear a pin drop now. Hopefully everyone is covered with insurance policy!

H: Superman and Hulk looks worn out with their battle against each other with both struggling to get to their feet. Jean stands silently at the corner with Magneto trying to brainwash her.

Magneto: My child, we mutants have to watch each other’s back. Eliminate the others and I will let you win!

Jean: *silence*

Elimination!

H: Flash eliminates Spider Man who failed to recover from the beating by Hulk and as it stands now only Magneto, Hulk, Superman, Flash and Jean is in the ring.

Entry #30: Cyborg

H: Jean Grey remains silent as supposed to be final entry Cyborg joins the ring. It is 3 Marvel vs 3 DC now with only one entry remaining!

H: Justice League members, Superman, Flash and Cyborg look to have teamed up on the left hand side of the ring with Jean, Magneto and Hulk on the opposite side.

Elimination!

H: Bad call by Cyborg to go against Magneto as he receives the same treatment as Iron Man faced against Magneto. Cyborg’s suit is shattered to pieces and Magneto seems to be the favourite at the moment.

H: Superman and Hulk battle it out once again. Flash tried to barge Jean from the back and looks like he just ran into an invincible shield Jean has placed over her and this has made Jean really mad. She is turning into Phoenix now and the ring is rattling!

Superman and Hulk battle it out!

H: The surface below is cracking and the ring is slowly being lifted above the ground. Someone has to stop Jean. Hulk and Superman are holding onto the ropes and Magneto’s powers are no match against Jean.

Elimination!

H: Flash is thrown away from ring like a piece of paper by Jean’s powerful mind.

Entry #31:???

H: The last entry is here but no one seems to be appearing. Joker, where is your replacement?

Joker: He will be here soon.

H: Anyway the ring is up in the air now! Phoenix has certainly taken over Jean Grey!

Jean Grey becoming the feared Phoenix!

Professor X: Leave it to me. I’m trying my best to calm her down.

H: Jean seems to be out of control and too powerful even for Professor Charles to stop her.

 *Inside Jean’s mind*

(Professor X : Jean, I know you are in there. Too many innocent present people here, get hold of yourself. You don’t want to be harming them. Let it go. Calm down!)

Jean: *silence*....again...

Elimination!

H: Magneto’s time is up as Jean swindlers him away when he attempted to stop her. Magneto looks devastated and is in disbelief that he has been eliminated.

H: Finally Jean or shall I say Phoenix is disrupted by Superman’s eye laser. Superman must have used all his power to get his laser to penetrate through and managing to hit Jean. The ring comes crashing down and Jeans faints with all her energy drone out.

Elimination!

H: The fatigued Superman is attacked by Hulk and as Hulk tries to put him over, Superman proves to be still mighty enough and topples the big green beast with him over the top rope. A double elimination!!  Superman and Hulk has outdone each other and who remains stronger between these two will remain a mystery.

H: This leaves the unconscious Jean Grey still lying in the ring and with the #31 entry still missing and nowhere to be seen, is she the winner?

............

H: Hold on, Hold on! What is this? The Joker is off his seat and walking up the ring. Joker is the replacement entry?

The Joker gets up from his seat and.....

Entry #31: The Joker !!!

H: The crowd is shocked and confused now. The Joker must have planned this all up with Loki.

Joker: Do I really look like a guy with a plan?

The Joker himself is the replacement entry!

H: Loki, how can you do this? You sacrificed Thor for a spot for the Joker, how could you?

Loki: He offered me an amount of money which I could not refuse.

H: I wonder what Loki is going to do with this amount of cash back in his planet, only Odin will know.

Elimination!

H: The Joker carries the unconscious Jean and puts her over the top rope and the Joker has done it!

H: The Joker is the winner of this superhero rumble!!

Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

H: The crowd is not pleased by any means and…

Elimination!

H: Unbelievable! Ant Man pops out of nowhere changing back from his ant form to human form and gives the Joker a serious beating. The Joker has no answer and is easily put over the top rope by Ant Man. The Joker is in disbelieve.

The Joker slams the ring in disbelief!

H: Since he came in at entry number 17, Ant Man shrunk to his ant size and everyone has forgotten about him including me. A masterclass tactic by him and officially Ant Man is the winner of this Superhero Royal Rumble!

Ant Man is the winner of the rumble!!

Crowd: Ant Man! Ant Man! Ant Man!

H: Congratulations Ant Man! How are you feeling?

Ant Man: Thank you very much mate. I cannot put this in words. It has been a great night.

H: You have overcome all the odds but how did you do it? Where were you all the while?

Ant Man: I knew it is impossible for me to beat these much powerful heroes so I decided to shrink myself to hide away. Then, I saw this hole in the ring, caused by Iron Man’s laser and I hid myself inside the crack. It is the only possible way for me to win really.

H: Amazing Ant Man, that was brilliant. You should be proud and Marvel will definitely be happy with your victory. Enjoy this moment with your family and all the best for your first major film releasing this June.

Ant Man: Cheers!

H: It has been an exciting night Ladies and Gentlemen. Ant Man has showed us that size and reputation does not matter if you want to achieve something that you really want even if you are competing in the really big league. A Marvel hero is the winner in the end. Goodnight folks and thanks for watching!

Tolerable Sins

How do we define the word common? Something that is typical that happens frequently in which is labelled as ordinary. Take your brand new handset for example. It is given the out-most care and treated as if it is made up of fragile glass. Fast forward a few months, could not care less type of throwing handset on bed or sofa gesture will be implemented automatically. Why? Simple, it is a customary act done where we have no guilt about because many do so.

Parents were our first hero that slowly turns to be a so called ‘burden’ upon us as they struggled to cope themselves into our modern society and way of thinking. Take a moment and revert back on the number of times that we have showed our rudeness, intolerance, impatience towards them. Being shy of them in front of our peers when all they wanted to do is be closer to us. We feel irritated to teach them how to use a handset when they have thought us the right way of life all these years. Are we capable and willing enough to take care of them when they get old like how they have given us shelter ever since we were infants?

Teenagers who find it hard to get along with parents

Avoiding certain people to escape from awkward conversations has become a norm. The manner we allow ourselves to be drone, manipulated and influenced by the social media is something for us to reassess. The wasting of food when we are fully aware of people suffering without it and the obligation of being too choosy for food.

The unthinkable amount of wasted food.

The evolution of meaningful and soulful song being less popular compared to a meaningless one due to the pornographic like videos. Awards ceremony for porn actors, films, directors and the existence of believe in nudism. These are not things that I find wrong or in any way against it but the fact that it has become so common that society tend to accept it.

Nudism where it is ought to believe in negative energy free.

A woman who chooses her path to be a prostitute for easy income to support her family is not the same as a little girl condemned to be forced into the same trail. It is a glaring contradiction. Legal prostitution has become the main source of income at certain places. Bribery on the other hand, has become the easy solution for people to get what they desire.

Human trafficking has to come to a stop!

BBC’s documentary ‘India’s Daughter’ reveals the sad truth of what innocent girls fear in the lesser parts of the world. The fact that we breathe the same air as those rapists who managed to walk away freely by people who defended them claiming that rape happens at the fault of the victim. You read that right, the fault of the victim! A man putting his desires ahead of a woman’s right and dignity is no place for any sort of acceptance. The fear that such circumstances is slowly but surely going to be a tolerable act is frightening to say the least. Humans and monsters will have no contrast in the near future albeit the present.

The bizarre statement of the rapist from the interview

The amount of blood spilled in the name of religion is beyond belief. As far as I am concerned, no teaching encourages killing and ending the soul given by the power above. The doings of certain people affects the name of the religion in a whole. Adding to that, suicidal is the initiative taken that shows the ungratefulness of having the gift of life. Millions of lives would have been, could have been saved without the existence of religion. Nations that are indirectly leading towards dictatorship empowerment when it is actually a democratic country.

Victims about to be beheaded in the name of religion.

To say that I have not engaged myself to some of these sins would mean that I am committing the biggest sin of all which is lying. Lie has reached a tolerance level so high that at times we don’t even realise that we lie. Sometimes we do it for good, most of times for bad. Who are we to judge? We do not qualify to do this. Only in a world that has become this corrupted, we could actually tolerate these sins and keep a straight face. Has the influence of evil surpassed the good? Is the world heading in the right direction? We see a deadly sin at every street, home, society but we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it is common.
